Forest Medicine SAcred Grove

Working with the Rights of Mother Earth and other animistic practices in this way, we can ask ourselves: how do I relate to my local community and how do I treat myself and those around me? In so doing, we may find that whatever is most supportive for the vitality of the greater whole is ultimately most supportive for us as individuals.

Do you find yourself resisting the sensations and feelings—the anxiety, despair, and sorrow—that arise in response to coronavirus and climate change? What happens when we learn to trust these feelings as integral parts of intelligent processes of transformation and become more aligned with and present to them? Put another way, are there unlikely allies to whom we might look for direction in navigating these rapidly changing times?

Sacred Nature

About "Sacred Nature" by the photographer, Holly Wilmeth:

This project portrays the deep connection between the nature surrounding us and our human nature. The images and writing serve as an invitation to awaken to a place of sacred sanctuary. The harmony of the natural world is available to us in our own backyard through the powerful healing energy of traditional plant wisdom.

You don't have to go out of your way to discover or come across any of the plants, trees, and flowers in this project. On the contrary, all of them are very common and can be found in our gardens, on walks, on the side of roads, in empty lots. The images and text can serve as a reminder that the magic and meaning of our lives can be found in the smallest of things: the sacred dance of nature.

This project is on-going and in search for a home, as a book or even a deck of cards. We will be sharing parts of it as the seasons unfold.
